Veteran Volunteer Opportunities
Veterans Visiting Veterans
No one understands as well as another vet who's "been there." Samaritan welcomes and trains veterans to visit with veteran hospice patients and their families. You can share service memories and lend an ear and a helping hand to a fellow veteran. Patient volunteers give support and companionship, relieve the family caregivers, run errands, provide limited transportation, read or take part in other activities that brighten the day of our veterans and their families. Many of our volunteers compare their service to visiting a friend or neighbor – and tell us that they get far more satisfaction than they give!
Other Volunteer Opportunities
For veterans who may want to volunteer in ways other than visiting patients and families in their homes, Samaritan offers a host of opportunities. These include providing support in our office, helping with special events or making phone calls to check in on bereaved families. You can find out more about our volunteer opportunities by clicking here.
New Volunteer orientations will be held the third Thursday of every month from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Please call 856-552-3235 or email scezo@samaritanhospice.org for more information or to RSVP.
